5 Install LibreOffice or OpenOffice into WindowsIndex

When you have your Windows base system Installed (in your Desktop Operating Systems course), go to URL http://cstech/ on campus (NOT the open Internet, because it would be too slow) and download LibreOffice (or OpenOffice) for Windows and install it on your base Windows system, so that Windows can read and print the Open Office lab documents used in this course. To find the software on CSTECH, click any room in the left side-bar and look under Drivers and Downloads.

6.1 Remote Access to Course Linux ServerIndex

Your initial course work will be done by remote login to a Course Linux Server machine. You will connect to this machine using some form of free SSH terminal program, such as:

• PuTTY for Microsoft Windows
• Terminal and ssh for Apple Macintosh
• any terminal window and ssh for Unix/Linux
