Remember - knowing how to find out an answer is more important than
memorizing the answer.  Learn to fish!  RTFM!  (Read The Fine Manual)

To be done in Week 1:

1.  Go over the course outline when it is ready (Wednesday or Friday).

2.  Do Exercise #1 and submit it for marking in Week 2.
    (Details will be posted by Friday in the Announcement news group.)

3.  Get the two course textbooks:

     1.  A Practical Guide to LINUX, Sobell, Addison Wesley
     2.  System 390 JCL, 4th ed., Brown, Wiley

4.  Create two Floppix diskettes.  (Your instructor has some.)
    Know how to boot Floppix.
  
5.  Duplicate your Floppix diskettes before they wear out!
