================================== The Little Man Computer Simulators ================================== -IAN! idallen@ncf.ca There are three LMC simulators available for DAT2343, and one graphical simulator for a machine very similar to our own LMC. The recommended one is the Clone Simulator by Mark Aleksandrov, below. The Basic Simulator This one is available on Alan Pinck's web site, in the Projects section. It has no editing and no input or output queues. Only use it if you can't make the other ones work. The Enhanced Simulator This one was (re-)written by Christopher Hyne, and is available here as: fosolmc-1.3.0-1ian.zip fosolmc-1.3.0.exe It has editing and an output queue; but, no input queue. Use the Clone Simulator instead, unless the Clone doesn't work for you. If you have the Visual Basic libraries installed on your computer, you only to need download and run the executable. If you have to install the Visual Basic libraries, download and unpack the ZIP file, then run SETUP.EXE to install everything, then run the executable (which comes in the ZIP file). The Clone Simulator This one was (re-)written by Mark Aleksandrov, and is available here as: clonesolmc.zip This simulator has editing, input and output queues, a built-in help file, and a report generator. If it works for you, it's the best one to try. If you have the Visual Basic libraries installed on your computer, you only to need to download the ZIP file, unpack it, and run the LMC.EXE file. If you have to install the Visual Basic libraries, download the ZIP file and follow the directions under the Enhanced Simulator, then try LMC.EXE again. The Graphic Simulator This is a graphic version of a Little Man Computer. It does not implement the 803 or 0xy instructions. graphic_lmc.exe
