----------------------------------------------- Self-mark of Assignment NN (participation mark) ----------------------------------------------- -Ian! D. Allen - idallen@idallen.ca - www.idallen.com Submitting each self-mark survey contributes toward your 10% class participation mark. Each assignment has a corresponding self-mark survey to be filled out on Blackboard. Self-mark each assignment using the posted assignment answers. You can self-mark an assignment even if you didn't submit it on time, but you cannot self-mark an assignment that you have not submitted at all. (You can submit an assignment late, so that you can self-mark it, before the self-mark survey due date. Make sure you do your own work for each assignment that you submit. Copying posted answers and submitting that as your own assignment work would constitute plagiarism. Do your own work.) How To Self-Mark Your Assignment -------------------------------- Check each of your answers against my posted answers for the assignment. Submit the points for each question in your assignment using a scale of: 0 - No Answer given for this question 1 - Incomplete or Mostly Wrong Answer (no method shown or large errors) 2 - Mostly Right Answer (method shown and only small errors) 3 - Perfect Answer including full method shown Minor errors in arithmetic or spelling may still be worth 2 or even 3 points if you understand what you are doing, had written down the correct method, and the errors are small enough. Neglecting to write down *how* you came to an answer is worth only 1 point. Full points requires that you show *how* you arrived at your answer, similar to the methods shown in the answer file posted for each assignment, though your methods don't have to match the posted methods as long as they work. You get full participation marks just for submitting each survey accurately. The actual points you submit for each question will *not* be used in your participation grading. You must self-mark all the questions in the assignment, even if you only answered a few of the questions. (Unanswered questions must be self-marked as zero, not left blank.) Incomplete surveys don't count toward your participation mark. You must submit your Blackboard userid and name along with each survey. I will examine the submitted answers to see which topics need review for tests and exams. If you all award yourself full points for a question - a perfect answer with full method shown - I will not propose to review that topic for tests or exams. -- | Ian! D.
