Assignment 5 Updated October 29: Split into Two Halves

The assignment is now in two parts, A and B, due one week apart.  I've modified both halves; you must reprint it to get the current versions.  Throw away the old Assignment 5.

B: Revised Nov 3: Assignment 5-B (Unix) is due 9:30pm (evening) Thursday, November 11

Note: I made a minor change on Nov 3: Instead of "ps -l" use "ps -f" in the scripts.  "ps -f" doesn't chop off the command name.
This is the second half ("B") of Assignment 5.  It must be in my hands or under my office door before I leave campus at 9:30pm on Thursday evening.
Do not leave this assignment to the last week! I cannot answer questions about "why doesn't this work" by email.
