====================================================== DAT2343 Fall 2001 - Revised Homework collection scheme ====================================================== With the new schedule for DAT2343 placing most people in classes scheduled on successive days, many people don't have enough time during the week to complete their homework before the next class. Here is a revised Homework collection and correction scheme. Homework questions will continue to be assigned at the end of each class. Homework may be collected only at the start of the *first* class in each week. I will not collect any homework at the start of the second class. Due to holidays and cancellations, some weeks may have only one class; that class becomes the first (and only) class that week. As a consequence of this liberal submission scheme, all homework from now on must be substantially computer-printed (except diagrams). I will no longer collect any substantially-handwritten homework. I will only collect properly-labelled, computer-printed homework. I will always go over the homework from each class at the start of the next class, which means that everyone should get perfect on the homework assigned at the end of the first class each week, since it will be corrected at the start of the second class and (may be) handed in the following week. At the start of the first class in each week, after I have gone over the homework from the previous class on the board with you and you have corrected your homework print-outs, I will have you roll the die to determine if *all* your computer-printed homework from the previous week will be collected that day. I will collect *all* the computer printed homework (which you will have already corrected by hand) and record that you did it. I will not be checking your handed-in homework for mistakes - you will already have done that in class as we went over it together. I am simply recording the fact that you did all the questions on time. I will not collect any late homework. If you miss the hand-in time at the start of the class, the homework will not be counted. Don't print and hand in the homework on break; that's too late. Have the homework printed and ready for correcting and hand in at the start of the first class each week. Note that if you miss the second class in a week, you will miss half of the correct answers in the homework. In each first class I will be correcting only the homework assigned in the previous class; but, I may be collecting *all* the homework from the week for verification.
